DYI Oatmeal mask

Winter is an incredible season for snowdays, bundled attire & evenings next to the fireplace…your skin & hair however-not a fan of this drying time of year. Springtime is going to be here in a blink of an eye…time to   rejuvenate your skin and put your best face forward for blooming flowers and sweet outdoor vitamin D.

This is a very simple 3 ingredient organic facial. It can be done as often as desired (I’ve been doing it 2-3x a week) and will not irritate acne prone or sensitive skin!

ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp organic plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp ground oatmeal
  • a few drops of organic honey

Directions:

  • Mix the yogurt and oatmeal together in a small bowl. Warm honey and add to the mixture.
  • Apply to clean, dry face, avoiding the eye area.
  • Leave on for 10-15 minutes. The last minute, work fingers in circular motion to aid in oatmeal’s exfoliation.
  • Rinse with warm water.
  • moisturize.

Benefits:

Yogurt is perfect  consistency for a moisturizing mask and is able to add enzymes and oils to the skin! It is rich in zinc, calcium, Vitamins-B1, B2, B-6, B-12, protein and yeast.which help to reduce pore size, improve overall skin texture, and give you that healthy glow.

Oatmeal isnt just a smart breakfast choice, you skin can benefit from it too! It is able to naturally remove surface dirt, absorb oils and clear impurities. Its texture is ideal for gentle exfoliation leaving skin clean and smooth.

Honey is a staple ingredient for many of my DIY masks. Its a great natural adhesive to bind masks together and help to penetrate the skin. Organic honey is our purest ingredient, free from preservatives allowing for ample benefits in anti aging, anti bacterial and benefits of nutrition.

Give this easy, quick mask a try. Your skin will thank you 🙂

DIY Baking Soda Scrub

Top of the mornin’ my favorite pamperin’ pals! Im writing this awesome, basic scrub recipe while poolside on a weekend get away! Does life get any radder? Probably not. 😉

I really hope you all enjoyed the past couple festive recipes, Pumpkin Facials and Pumpkin Pie Body Scrub..because today’s recipe is going to be a staple-go to recipe that is smiple, effective and can be done everyday! Im sure I’ll especially need this vital ingredient after this sunshine filled trip, as baking soda is an ingredient that is so effective in aiding in the skins health (and soothing of sunburns!).

Ingredients:

2 to 3 Tbsp. Baking soda
Small amount of water

Directions:

Mix the ingredients into a paste.
Using a circular motion, apply to face and gently scrub.

Rinse and moisturize.

According to www.planetgreen.discovery.com, baking soda makes a top-notch exfoliation. Why? Baking soda is coarse, but not too coarse. It’s the best amount of coarse for removing the top layer of dead skin cells, and if applied correctly, it won’t cause your sensitive facial skin to become red and irritated!

(And thnkfully after this desert sunshine-it helps with sunburns..When baking soda is added to bath water, sunburn sufferers often experience a notable reduction in pain. Place a cup (8 ounces) of baking soda under the running bath tap so it dissolves completely, and soak in a lukewarm tub for about half an hour. Such a bath will soothe the pain – and you won’t have to endure the stinging sensation of a shower. Adding baking soda to a hot bath at any time also helps wash acid wastes out of the body.)

YAY for going Green and inproving our skin..NATURALLY,

xoxo

Benefits

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR contains natural enzymes, vitamins and minerals  and is rich in antioxidants. It has Vitamins A, B and C, beta carotene, bioflavonoids, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, iron, sulfur, iron, fluorine, silicon, boron and pectin. How’s that for super vinegar! It naturally balances the pH balance  of the skin, fight bacteria, infections and is a natural anti-fungal, AND it reduces inflammation. It is an awesome astringent(toner), for sensitive and oily skin. Vinegar can even do wonders for acne and itchy skin conditions due to eczema and sunburn and can help blast fungal infections, warts and even skin tags!

HONEY: The natural occurring acids in honey acids are very safe to use on skin and can loosen bonds between the dead skin cells junking up your skin, making it easier to shed the dead layer and reveal your smoother more glorious skin underneath! These acids also increase elasticity, balance out oily skin, stimulate collagen production, and minimize lines and wrinkles making you look younger and more “new and improved”!

EGGS: An egg mask is one of the best natural remedies for irritated skin. Eggs contain amino acids that help in reduction of any inflammation. Eggs not only smooth and tighten the skin, but help shrink pores.

to EGG-cellent skin & a little honey too,
