Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette is undeniably THE palette of the summer..but does it live up to the hype? Pro-pick or Pro-Noooooo?
I will be 100% honest, I was going to skip this product based on packaging alone. The crushed velvet, especially in light purple is NOT my jam. I feel the outside appearance does not properly represent the quality shadows inside. As a professional makeup artist I am constantly packing my kit in and out and this material will not stand up to the constant wear. Ideally I would like to pop these shadows (excluding a few) into a more durable z-palette for my kit, but I AM obsessing over a couple of shades so I will make do.
As you can see from the picture above, within a couple uses the dusty-ness of this palette is obvious. Thankfully I’ve experienced minimal fallout on myself or my clients while working and I feel the whole palette has decent color payoff. I LOVE the warmer shades in this palette but could live without a few of the cooler tones. I was most excited about the champagne and golden shades. And while they have great sized flakes, they aren’t as vibrant as other brands I’ve tried. However, the #1 thing I look for in shadows is how blendable they are and these absolutely pass with flying colors.
I have enjoyed creating new looks with these shadows and I do feel it’s a good addition to my kit. I’m not impressed with the brush included but I am excited for the future of Anastasia Beverly Hills shadows!

Love it! First time purchasing the Anastasia Color Palettes. So far I love most of the colors and so easy to blend.
