DIY: Makeup Remover

Raccoon eyes? Powder pillow case? Second day bronzer? G-R-O-S-S..and unfortunately, we’ve all been guilty of it. It’s so easy to get lazy at the end of our day, skip the sink and slip into bed but it has more permanent consequences then just a colorful pillow.

While we’re off in dream land our poor skin is fighting with our poor choice by dealing with congested pores that will turn into problems in only a short amount of time! White heads, black heads, enlarged pores, pimples..OH THE HORROR!!

Never fear, Brittany Michele has a quick, easy, cheap, DIY solution to eliminate a major excuse of removing our make up when it’s time for some ZzZzs.

DIY Organic Makeup Remover

Ingredients:

Olive Oil

Witch Hazel

Directions:

Mix equal parts of Olive Oil and Witch Hazel in a sanitized container. Lightly shake before applying to a clean cotton ball. Begin with eye area (be gentle, this skin is SO sensitive and thin) and move to the rest of the skin. For stubborn eye make up, soak a cotton ball in olive oil prior to make up removal. Use warm water and get all those clogging properties OUT for a solid nights rest for you and your skin. 🙂

Benefits:

Olive oil is Non-comedogenic for most people. Olive oil is all natural and least likely to clog pores. Italians have sworn by Olive Oil in their skin care routine for years, and even Ancient Greeks bathed with olive oil! Many expensive beauty products use olive oil, so why not skip the middle man? Olive oil not only is a natural way to remove eye makeup but it also conditions the eyelashes.

Witch Hazel is an amazing natural astringent and known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties. It  is used in to lighten the skin, remove excess oil and dirt, and tighten facial skin.

In combination this pairing works so well by cutting down on the intense oily consistency and leaving skin feeling clean and refreshed.

to fresh faces & happy pores,

xoxo
